123Greetings Launches Free Ecard Application for Facebook Users
Send free ecards to your friends on Facebook within Facebook's simple-to-use interface.
New York, NY, December 5, 2007 - 123Greetings.com today announced the launch of a new application for Facebook, an open development platform that enables companies to integrate and gain access to Facebook’s millions of members. The new application “123Greetings Ecards” provides access to 20,000 free ecards that are available for over 3,000 everyday, special occasions and events. Users will be able to see what cards other people in their network have sent, understand what cards are most popular now, review the highest ranked cards by other Facebook users, and send as many ecards as they like.
“As more and more Americans post profiles on Facebook, users are looking for ways to spread holiday cheer, congratulate, and support one another,” said Jeanne Heydecker, Marketing Group Leader for 123Greetings.com. “The ‘123Greetings Ecards’ application provides a simple-to-use interface that leverages the Web 2.0 features of Facebook with the depth and breadth of our massive collection of ecards. Most other applications feature a few hundred or a few thousand cards; we offer more than 20,000.”
The “123Greetings Ecards” application is the first open application integration that 123Greetings.com plans to launch over the next six months. Ms. Heydecker went on to say, “One of the most interesting things about being able to integrate an entire ecard engine into Facebook was enabling people to connect and express themselves online. We want to take ecards to the next level by providing this free service on as many social networks as possible.”
